Create a reusable API Tool that exposes selected, safe REST or GraphQL operations to agents without requiring your team to build and operate an MCP server.

Why this challenge?

API Aggregation is the shortest path from an existing service to an agent capability. Validating read-only operations first also gives you a safer foundation before adding higher-impact actions.

How do you want to work?

Choose your preferred workflow. All paths reach the same outcome — pick what fits your style.

Create and validate the API Tool entirely from the Console wizard. No repository navigation is needed for this path.

Console journey

Move through this journey one milestone at a time. Each step opens the place you need next.

  1. 1
    Open Create Tool

Go to Registry -> Tools -> Create Tool and choose API Aggregation.

    Open in Console
  2. 2
    Import or describe the API

Name the Tool clearly, then upload an OpenAPI 3.x document, introspect GraphQL, or add an operation by hand. If you do not have an API, paste the Petstore URL below into the OpenAPI import field.

    Petstore OpenAPI URL
  3. 3
    Test the operation

Select a safe read-only operation and use the Console Test action until the response preview is correct.

    Read Help
  4. 4
    Create the reusable Tool

Review the generated configuration and choose Create Tool, then browse the Registry to confirm your new Tool appears. The next step, binding it to an agent, belongs in Connect.

    Browse Registry

Finish the steps above to register your API Tool. After that, create a Skill the agent can use alongside it.
